Telecommunications
The Telecommunications Bureau performs analysis and provides expert testimony on telecommunications issues in docketed cases before the Commission, including rulemakings. The bureau also reviews telecommunications carrier tariff filings, applications for interconnection and certificates of registration, and Eligible Telecommunications Carrier (ETC) petitions and filings; collects carrier and utility and inspection and supervision fees; and participates as a non-voting member of the New Mexico State Rural Universal Service Fund Advisory Board. In addition, the bureau monitors and responds to federal telecommunications developments as they affect the State of New Mexico and assists with telecommunications consumer complaints.
